StarDusters Dance

It's December, days are short, nights are cold and dark, time to add some real excitement to life. And that's what we'll do at our December dance. We'll start with a basic lesson on Samba (the most energy-intensive Latin dance) taught by the championship Latin partnership of Ian McAreavy and Madison Burnette.

Samba can seem complicated initially to get your head around because the rhythm is, well... complicated. It's a combination of African and Latin rhythms that becomes the dancing equivalent of an earworm, your feet just cannot ignore it.

So come for the Samba lesson so you can feel comfortable getting out on the dance floor when the Samba music is playing. Then we'll have two hours of general ballroom dancing. December is the Christmas season so we'll play a goodly number of holiday-appropriate songs to which you'll just want to sing, dancing is optional but dancing while singing is a hoot .
