Our outdoor concert series, Terrace Hour, is back! Whether you're a lifelong local or simply passing through, start your weekend off right with performances by local musicians from the Monterey Peninsula. Admission is always free, ensuring that live music remains accessible to all members of our community. To support free programming like this, please click here to donate to Sunset Center.
Naima Nascimento is a 15 year-old singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose soulful sound and songwriting were shaped by her upbringing in Oakland, Big Sur, and Bahia, Brazil. Naima released her first two singles last year — "Blood Sweat, and Tears" and "Bite me" — and will release her debut EP later this summer.
Naima has been writing songs since she was 4 years old and gained national attention at age 10 when she was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine and on Access Hollywood for her original song supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. In 2024, Naima performed at BottleRock and opened for Valerie June. In addition to her solo career, Naima is also the lead singer of well-regarded bluegrass band Salty Sally and one of the lead simgers in the Oakland Rising Project. In July of 2025, Naima performed with Oakland Rising at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and opened for GRAMMY Award-winning artist Rhiannon Giddeons. Naima is currently a Junior at Carmel High School where she performs in the Chamber Choir and the Orchestra.
Terrace Hour is free to attend. RSVPs are requested, but not required. Outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome, but alcohol must be purchased at our bar, which serves beer, wine, and canned spirits. The bar opens at 5:30pm, and the show runs from 6-7pm. Rain cancels.
