Fred Dill Wildlife Sanctuary
62 Fair Street, Carmel Hamlet, United States
Join the Hudson River Valley Greenway and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County for a guided hike through the Fred Dill Wildlife Sanctuary, a beautiful natural area nestled in the heart of Carmel, NY. This engaging walk is part of the Hudson River Valley Ramble and offers an opportunity to connect with the land and with local organizations working to protect and enhance our region. On this hike, participants will explore the rich ecology of upland forests and wetlands, learn to identify native plants and invasive species, and hear about the land use history of the sanctuary. Presenters will also discuss how the rise and fall of the railroad industry left its mark on this landscape. This event is also a chance to meet staff from both the Greenway and Cornell Cooperative Extension, ask questions about their programming and grant opportunities, and learn how both organizations support communities across the region. Whether you’re a resident, nonprofit, business, or municipal leader, we welcome you to come hike with us, enjoy nature, and start a conversation about how we can work together.
Also check out other Nonprofit events in Carmel Hamlet.
