ACCESS Training Day 2025

ACCESS-NRI (Australia's Climate Simulator) would like to invite you to the ACCESS Training Day 2025 - a free, hands-on learning event for ACCESS climate models, tools and data.

Please note: Registration for the Training Day is separate from the registration.

‼️Note that room allocations will be determined based on the number of participants registered by the end of July. Therefore, registrations received after late July may reduce the likelihood of being assigned to their top-ranked preferences.

☀️ About the Training Day

Whether you are just starting out or are an advanced user of the ACCESS modelling system, this day will offer valuable opportunities for learning and collaboration with the broader ACCESS Community.

The day is divided into two half-day sessions (each 3 hours) - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Most sessions will follow the traditional 'instructor-led' approach, we're also offering several less formal options this year. Please refer to the Training Day Session Desriptions for full details.

📚Prerequisites

Some sessions have prerequisites. Please check the Training Day Session Descriptions before ranking your choices in this form.

⚠️ Please note: Most sessions will require an active NCI account, and a couple might require a MOSRS account. Once you've been allocated to your sessions, we'll send you detailed instructions on how to set them up.

🕰️ Session Preferences and Scheduling

You will be asked to rank your top 4 preferences when registering. We'll use your preferences to assign rooms and times, aiming to give each participant their top two choices - one AM and one PM session. You will be informed of the sessions you have been assigned to, once the schedule is finalised by late July, or on a rolling basis if you register after that time.

Please note: Session spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

If the day fills up, you’ll be placed on a waitlist. However, we expect to release many waitlist spots after reviewing preferences and adjusting room allocations.
