Light a candle on WSPD
World Suicide Prevention Day is an annual reminder that there is an alternative to suicide, and it aims to inspire confidence and light in all of us. That our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling.
Join us in a quiet moment of unity, remembrance, and hope.
Our candle lighting events are an opportunity to come together in solidarity — to remember loved ones lost to suicide, to support those who live with thoughts of suicide, and to stand with those who have lost a family member, friend, or colleague.
These are gentle, informal events — no speeches, no pressure to talk. Just a space to be together.
Candles are available if you don’t bring your own. You’re welcome to bring a photo or message — to take home or leave with us. We’ll take great care of these items. They serve as a precious reminder to us of the importance and urgency of our charity’s work.
You are more than welcome to join us anytime from 7.45 pm to meet others or to talk to members of Every Life Matters. We will share a minute of silence and reflection at 8:00 pm.
Afterwards, you’re invited to stay, connect, and speak with members of Every Life Matters, who are here to listen and support. If it’s wet or windy, we’ll move indoors or under cover.
