Join Executive Director Kayla Fehr as she sits down with Tobi Dannemiller on September 5th and Jade Harvey on September 12th for talks about this month's gallery show, Small Worlds!
The River House Gallery welcomes two artists who share the same close attention to the natural world around them.
Their work invites all to marvel at what they see, to notice details, and to carry that sense of wonder with us.
September 5th:
Tobi Dannemiller captures the wild beauty of the flora and fauna of Appalachia through vibrant Japanese Gansai watercolors, blending bold, graphic line-work with luminous color reminiscent of stained glass.
Her work freezes fleeting moments-an owl framed in the warm glow of sunset, fireflies at dusk, mushrooms emerging from the forest floor-offering viewers a glimpse into nature's scenic patterns, colors, and quiet magic.
Many of Tobi's pieces are accompanied by short, narrative works that deepen the story within each of her paintings. She invites all to visit her website: tobitokens.com.
Tobi lives in West Virginia's Lost River Valley, where inspiration abounds and creativity flows.
September 12th:
Jade Harvey is a wife, mother, daughter of the King, and self-taught mixed media artist who has learned to love living in the Appalachian mountains.
Her business, "Jadeworks Studios," specializes in unique custom pieces primarily consisting of semi-repurposed art, jewelry, and decor.
All her medium choices are inspired by the beautiful world around her; by her faith and family; and by the textures, colors, and shapes in everyday objects.
Jade's desire to share her creativity helps her to teach her own children as well a to lead workshops in the surrounding area.
