The Center for Wildlife is a place for people of all ages to learn and explore the concepts of empathy, biology, ecology, and the human–wildlife connection through interpretation, hands-on experiences with nature, and interactive exhibits. For the holiday week, the Center for Wildlife will be extending our hours and adding special holiday open days—Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, December 28–31, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Tickets include admission to our Nature Center, Ambassador Village, outdoor trails, nature center educational programs, and children’s natural play areas.
Explore our Nature Center and meet our non-releasable turtle and frog ambassadors up close. Exhibits also include a life sized tree, a mini medical clinic where children can dress up and view x-rays, and an interactive vernal pool scavenger hunt.
In the ambassador village, you can view non-releasable raptors and mammals native to New England in their habitats. Watch a red tailed hawk bathe in the sun, or catch a glimpse of a great horned owl hiding in a tree.
Your visit also includes access to our universally accessible trail with a bird blind and reflection pool, the boardwalk trail that winds through wetlands, moss and forest, along with a small children's natural play area with outdoor kitchen for preparing wild animal platters.
The Nature Center is normally open 10 AM-4 PM, Thursdays-Sundays. Depending on the time of day, you may see ambassadors enjoying their meals, staff taking animals out for enrichment walks, and holding our weekly free educational programs: Predators of the Sky, Owl Pellet Dissections, Let's Talk About Turtles, and Keeper in Training. Nature Center Visits are $10 per person.
Our weekly Nature Center programs will also be offered on these additional holiday open days!
