Classical Cape May Season Opener: A Delayed Genre: Art Songs in Mandarin and Cantonese

Acclaimed tenor Stephen Ng and pianist Ting Ting Wong will be performing a concert of Chinese art songs. Dr. Ng, a Professor of Voice at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, brings expressive warmth and clarity to this relatively new genre of art songs, which did not truly exist until the early 20th century. He and Ms Wong will offer brief spoken introductions to the works, guiding listeners through a musical journey rich in poetic imagery, tradition, and lyric beauty.

The concert is FREE and will last one hour. There will be a reception following for the audience to meet the artists. Donations are welcomed.

The Episcopal Church of the Advent is at the corner of Franklin and Washington Streets in Cape May, across from the fire station.
