Join WE HIKE in a summit to El Paso highest peak for National Summit Day on a guided hike. This is not a beginner’s hike. Know your limits before signing up for this hike.
This is considered hard to strenuous depending on your ability. A couple questions you can ask yourself.
Can you hike 8 miles or more?
Can you hike for more than 6 hours?
Can you hike a consistent pace with short breaks?
Do you want to hike in a group?
Are you okay taking breaks in a group if you are a faster hiker?
If you answer yes, then this could be for you. If you have questions, reach to me and I'll help you decide.
This hike can take 4 to 6 hours.
Let's hike! Join us in an 8.5 -mile hike for cardio and endurance at a moderate consistent pace with micro breaks along the way.
Texas state park pass free, if not $5 for the park use fee. You can have a printed-out reservation and also sign up online for a reservation at reserveamerica.com YOU MUST HAVE A PAID RESERVATION PRIOR TO THIS HIKE FOR ENTANCE, TO MAKE THE HIKE ON TIME. The office does not open until 7 so you need to do your reservation online or call in and prepay or reserve.
Please have the 10 essentials with you and also watch the weather for the appropriate attire.
You can sign up for this hike at www.wehikeadventure.org but the park fees and reservation are separate.
We will take a longer break at the top for lunch and pictures as well.
Arrive at the gate at 7:30 am. Having a printed reservation will allow you to go to the trailhead. If you did not meet at the gate, Meet at Mundy's gap in Tom Mays to START at 6:45AM. We will take a group photo prior to starting.
Items needed: Water, 3 liters minimum, sunscreen, a good hat for protection from the sun as there is no shade on the trail. Snacks are always good to have. Bring any medications you may personally need.
Participants should be in good physical condition to attend any outing.
Folks with an underlying medical condition should avoid moderate and strenuous outings. Participants who RSVP yes also agree to the own resources, responsibility and safety.
