An ADF Families Event- Child Of The ADF Medallion Ceremony- Kokoda Barracks

Participation in the CoADFM program is open to all Defence resident family children (ARF/URF) aged 18 years and under of current serving (SERCAT 3-7 and SERVOP C) ADF members. Each eligible participant may only receive one CoADFM during the serving member’s career, with an honour system operating about applications made. Medallions are awarded to children who have shown resilience and growth in managing the challenges of the ADF lifestyle.

These challenges include, but are not limited to the following

a) Relocation(s) due to the ADF lifestyle requirements that have been met with challenges and opportunities that have supported additional learning opportunities and personal growth.

b) Connecting in your new schools, new people, sport and/or social groups offering opportunities for personal growth and to explore new beginnings.

c) The absence of the member for service reasons that has created additional stressors within the family unit. Although absence is at times a requirement when serving within the ADF it is not always easy to manage the distance.

d) In support of ADF capability requirements where there has been additional work taskings requested of the serving member that were unforeseen.

The Child of the ADF Medallion is a small but important way of recognising the children who go through the emotional, and at times, difficult experience of having a loved one serve in the ADF.

To register your child/ren for a Child of the ADF Medallion, please enter through this Eventbrite portal. You will need to complete the details in full for each child you are nominating. Please ensure correct spelling of names for printing of certificates.

The presentation ceremony will take place at the Kokoda House on Kokoda Barracks.

Registrations/nominations will close at 2pm, November 19th if not fully booked prior.

You should carefully read the following information to ensure you are aware of all requirements relating to this program. This information is regularly updated and may not be the same as information on previous DMFS program/events you may have registered for.

• Participation in the CoADFM program is open to all Defence recognised dependents of current serving full time ADF members (SERCAT 3-7 and SERVOP C).

• Each eligible participant may only receive one CoADFM during member’s service.

• When registering for the program, you must register for a ticket for each eligible dependant you are nominating to receive a Medallion.

• Ensure that the email address you register with is accurate as you will receive your confirmation email, and any additional information or changes to the event, by email.

• If you would like to cancel your nomination, please click on the link in your confirmation email ‘View and manage your order online’. This takes you to your ‘Tickets’ page where you can choose the ‘Cancel my Order’ option to release the tickets back to the event listing.
