What small act of self-care could change your life - and someone else’s?
This September, The ND Harbour is inviting people to take on a gentle, positive challenge: commit to one or two small self-care habits for the month of September, and help raise vital funds for neurodivergent people in the process.
Whether it’s getting out for a daily walk, drinking more water, texting friends back, or finally putting away the laundry — any habit that supports your wellbeing counts. Participants can join individually or as a team and raise sponsorship via JustGiving.
Everyone who signs up will receive a free SMART goal planner to support their habit change, plus access to a WhatsApp accountability group for community motivation and encouragement.
Why it matters
The ND Harbour provides life-changing support to autistic and ADHD people in Kent — with no waitlists, no diagnosis required, and no threshold criteria. Our peer groups and community sessions reduce social isolation and improve mental health outcomes for people often excluded from mainstream services.
But we need a permanent home. The ND Harbour is aiming to raise £100,000 over the next year to secure a dedicated venue where they can expand their offer — including play sessions for children, peer groups for parents, and social spaces for neurodivergent adults seven days a week.
“The NHS and local authorities are overwhelmed. Families are being left without the support they need,” says Jo, founder of The ND Harbour. “We’re building something grassroots, inclusive, and community-led — but we need help to grow.”
Sign up for Self-Care September and do something good for you, while doing something great for your community.
