The Washington County Democratic Committee cordially invites you to our Annual Banquet on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Southpointe. The evening begins with a social hour and cash bar at 5:30 PM, followed by dinner at 6:30 PM.
This year, we are proud to present the Legacy of Leadership Award to J. Bracken Burns, Sr., in recognition of a lifetime devoted to public service, community advancement, and decades of trusted leadership. As a four-term Washington County Commissioner, Bracken managed a $150 million budget, led 52 departments, and championed groundbreaking initiatives such as the Alzheimer’s Unit at the County Health Center, the Panhandle Trail, and the “Furlough into Service” program. His trailblazing work in emergency medical services and disaster planning helped make Washington County a statewide model.
A veteran, educator, and lifelong advocate for civil rights and human dignity, Bracken’s impact reaches far beyond government buildings and lives on in the people and communities he’s served. His many honors include the Lewis E. Waller Humanitarian Award, Governor’s Award for Excellence in Local Government, Area Agency on Aging Humanitarian Award, and NAACP Human Rights Award.
We are also thrilled to welcome the newly elected Chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, Eugene DePasquale, as our Keynote Speaker. Eugene is a longtime public servant dedicated to accountability and progress. He previously served as Pennsylvania’s Auditor General, where he was known for fighting waste, protecting taxpayers, and championing transparency in government. We look forward to his inspiring message as we gather to celebrate leadership, service, and the future of our party.
