Freadom to Read Night: A Celebration of Stories & Free Expression

Join us for a one-night-only event during Banned Book Week as we shine a light on the power of stories and the ongoing conversations around censorship.

This interactive evening will feature a format similar to a poetry slam:

Each participant will have 1–2 minutes to read a passage from a banned or challenged book

Briefly share where and why the book was censored

After all readings, we’ll gather for an open, book club–style discussion about book banning, censorship, and the importance of protecting the freedom to read.

Whether you want to read, listen, or join the discussion, this is a night to connect, learn, and celebrate the stories that spark conversation and change.
