Winter weeding working bee at Billabong pond- 9:30-11:30 Sunday 24 August.
Come along to help target weeds this winter to maintain the new beds and plant a small number of plants!
There will be a few tasks on offer:
- W**d the new garden beds
- Remove remaining plant guards from established plants
-We have a handful of new plants to plant to fill gaps.
-Rearrange bamboo spikes to ensure each native plant has one or two to aid identification.
There will be some help on offer if needed so we all know what is a native or a W**d and I’ll post some pictures of common weeds.
Please wear enclosed shoes and bring a hat and water bottle
If you have any of the following, feel free to bring them.
Otherwise, just come along as we’ll have spare.
- gardening gloves
-weeding tool, mattock or shovel if you have one (the ground is hard)
-wheelbarrow if you live nearby and can carry home some W**d waste to dispose of.
- OR, W**d bags if you have a couple ( I.e old potting mix or tough bags for garden waste and thistles).
Look forward to seeing you there.
