Super Rats

Super Rats play fun and fascinating traditional music from the backstreets of Bucharest. At the heart of the group is the unique many-stringed cimbalom. Add upbeat accordion, soaring violin, and dancing double bass and you have a mesmerising, invigorating feast for the ears.

Be transported (temporarily) to some kind of Wes Anderson-approved eastern European bar scene. In the cavernous depths of a decaying hotel-restaurant, you’re sipping your slivovitz in your customary spot near the Iron Curtains. Here you find yourself surrounded by an immaculately-disheveled congregation of wise fools and mad geniuses, with Super Rats providing the soundtrack that runs from melancholy to ecstatic and back again.
