Celebrating three decades in the Canberra region- 30 years in 90 minutes.
A whirlwind tour through music and lyrics, song and story-telling, with humour, many moving moments, and sprinklings of irony.
In 1995, John Shortis and Moya Simpson bought a caravan and left Sydney to travel around Australia performing and leading workshops, open-minded about where they might live next. Little did they know that in March 1996 they would be settling in Bungendore, soon to become established as cabaret duo Shortis and Simpson.
As time went on, their neighbour displayed a sign that read ‘Ironing Done Here’. It would not be long before they had their own sign- ‘Irony Done Here’.
Now it’s a show, celebrating 30 years of politics and history in song and comedy, choirs, community projects, one-woman shows, fellowships and much more.
Part of the Upstageing Canberra Festival, presented by Council of the Ageing.
