About the event

Intersection of Advanced Technologies in Canberra Unpacked
Join us for a high-level discussion on the convergence of quantum applications, cybersecurity, and space industries.

About this Event

Join us for a high-level discussion on the convergence of three of the most critical and rapidly evolving sectors: quantum applications, cybersecurity, and space industries. This panel will bring together key leaders to explore the unprecedented opportunities and strategic challenges that lie at their intersection, with a specific focus on Canberra's unique role and advantages in shaping Australia's advanced technology landscape.

Panelists
  • LTGEN Susan Coyle AM, CSC, DSM, Chief of Joint Capability, Defence Australia.
  • Fernando Alves, Quantum Australia.
  • Arvind Ramana, Director of Space Programs, Australian Space Agency.

The discussion will include topics such as:

  • Market Opportunities: Identifying where the next wave of innovation and investment will emerge, from secure satellite communication to quantum-enhanced sensing and navigation. The panel will highlight how Canberra's high concentration of federal government agencies, national security organizations, and a highly skilled, security-cleared workforce creates a prime environment for developing and commercializing these technologies.
  • National security and sovereignty: How a country like Australia can leverage its domestic capabilities and international partnerships to protect its sensitive data and ensure its security, while playing a significant role in a global industry.
  • Workforce of the Future: Addressing the talent gap and discussing the skills and collaboration models required to build a workforce capable of operating at the nexus of these complex fields. Canberra's robust ecosystem of world-class universities and research institutions provides a crucial pipeline of talent and research essential for this growth.

Following the panel, attendees will have a valuable opportunity to network and forge new partnerships with professionals across the defence, space, and technology communities. Don't miss this chance to gain a deeper understanding of the forces shaping our future and to connect with the innovators at the forefront of this transformation.
