Growing up under apartheid: children’s experiences in Occupied Palestine

What is it like to live under apartheid? And what is the impact on children who have to to grow up inside such a system?

The crime against humanity of apartheid is an institutionalised regime of systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over another. While Israel often claims it is the only democratic state in the Middle East, the International Court of Justice, and human rights organisations such as Amnesty International and the Israeli human rights group B’tselem have all found that Israel is practising apartheid.

What does all this mean for those who live in it?

This forum will interview 2 Palestinians and 2 Israeli Jews who all grew up under apartheid in Occupied Palestine: in Jerusalem and in Hebron in the West Bank. Music before an after from Karlo Paasonen - some confirmations still to be made.
