It’s that time of the month again when we run some beginner one-shot adventures for D&D 5.5e.
Below I have listed the adventures our 3 DM’s will be running this time.

Adventure One – @Steve Marsh
Centuries ago, six quarrelling elven families reconciled. Each family planted a redwood sapling in a circular grove to represent their newfound harmony. Decades later, after the saplings grew tall and mighty, an ancient green dragon dug a lair in the redwoods' roots, poisoning the grove and surrounding forest. The elves called the dragon Death-at-sunset, for twilight was always when the dragon descended on her prey. The dragon adopted this name, reveling in the terror it inspired and bellowing it just before rampaging.
One hundred years ago, an elf warrior named Ethvarn and her allies slew Death-at-Sunset. Ethvarn died in the assault. The surviving elves pulled back from Redwood Grove, leaving only a few wardens in an outpost called Redwood Watch,
Over the past few months, the inhabitants of Redwood Watch, now a village, have noticed the forest's trees growing sickly. In the past month, five villagers have disappeared in the grove. The first was council member Armin[ ](

Adventure Two – Toby B Carter
You were condemned to the depths long ago — a prisoner of Black Vein Mine, a place where daylight and mercy have long since been forgotten. Deep beneath the earth, among the choking dust and rusted chains, you and hundreds of others have toiled endlessly, carving ore for masters you never see. The guards whisper prayers to cold gods, and the overseers speak in sermons rather than orders.
But something has changed. The mine has gone silent above. The lifts have stopped running. The guards no longer eat — they *pray*. Word spreads fast in the tunnels: the mine is to be *purified*. The overseers will offer every prisoner as a sacrifice, and the workers will follow in ritual suicide to “cleanse their devotion.”
You have hours — maybe less — before the rites begin. The lights flicker. The air hums with chanting. Somewhere above, the first screams echo through the shafts.
Now, there is only one commandment that matters: escape or die forgotten beneath the stone.

The Baron has not been seen in weeks. Whispers drift through the village tavern—strange lights flicker in the windows of his manor, screams echo in the night, and those who wander too close speak of shadows that move on their own. The villagers beg for brave souls to uncover the truth: has the Baron vanished… or has something far darker taken his place?
