Reggae is coming to Badger & Co, through a double-header night of Iration and Vibration.
Three bands, punctuated by live dub mixing throughout the night, ensured to create an unforgettable atmosphere for fans of Afro-Jazz, Afro-Beat, Dancehall, Ska, Reggae, Dub and music alike.
Meet the Bands:
DIMDOMDIMDOM
“dimdomdimdom” are a Canberra-based trio featuring Shivi Vachaspati (bass), Ruben Hinton (Keys), and Ollie Stott (drums). Their music fuses shared interests in Jungle, House, R&B and Hip-Hop into electric and danceable improvised grooves. They study Jazz Performance together at The ANU’s School of Music, where they drink coffee and get up to no good.
AGENCY DUB COLLECTIVE
Formed in 1999, this legendary offbeat outfit meld global roots and blues influences with Jamaican dub, soul and reggae of the 60's-70's era. Fronted by the inspiring Jenny Sawer unleashing her uplifting vocals, the band’s multiple songwriters showcase a delightful array of relaxing sounds.
THE RESERVE SKANK OF AUSTRALIA
Canberra's finest group of dub-loving, reggae rocking skankers. Inspired by Lee Scratch Perry, Eek-A-Mouse and Dennis Brown, the RSA has been skanking up venues around Canberra and the Sapphire Coast for three years. If you haven't heard them, ask your mates, and spark one up b4 hand.
