Interwoven: Scarf Dying Workshop

This outreach experience is welcome to Spouses within the Special Operations Forces Community.

Join The Station Foundation for a unique autumn workshop on LB’s Farm. The bounty of summer has passed, and the onion harvest is complete. After months of digging, curing, storing, and selling at local markets, they have saved something special for us. Every delicate, papery layer shed by the onions. These outer skins, meticulously gathered, will now take center stage as a natural dye in a hands-on, eco-friendly workshop.
Join us for a day of learning, creating, and connecting as we explore the art of natural dyeing using vegetable materials. Participants will:
-Learn the basics of natural dyes, mordants, and natural fibers.
-Design and dye their own cotton scarf using onion skins.
-Work outdoors over an open fire to boil dye baths and fabrics.
-Slow down and reconnect with nature, with community, and with traditional practices.
We’ll be embracing the rhythm of the farm, taking time to enjoy good company and the beauty of the outdoors as our scarves transform in the dye pot.

Please dress for the weather, wear closed toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
All supplies and materials provided.
Food and drink will be provided.

This is a first come first serve event with a maximum capacity of 8 Spouses. We kindly request a cancellation notice no less than 72 hours prior to the event. Thank you for your consideration.
