Hand Quilting with Mary Margaret Pettway - February

2nd Generation Gee's Bend Master Quilter. - Mary Margaret Pettway - will be teaching Hand Piecing at Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center. She is world renowned and recently back from speaking at the National Quilt show at the Javitz Center in NYC, also her quilts are at the National Quilt Museum in Washington, DC. What an honor to learn hand piecing from such a recognized master of her craft!

Learn the art of hand piecing for quilts from this talented, funny, master quilter in the same style her family and friends have been using for generations. Mary Margaret has been a dedicated Teaching Artist at BBTCAC since 2013, sharing her skills with children and adults alike over the last twelve years.

All materials are included in the cost of the class - but students are encouraged to bring material scraps with special memories or significance to them, or just their favorite pieces (cotton, denim, and sturdy materials work best) for sharing.

Cost: $200 (includes materials)
$20 deposit required to hold a spot in this class.
