Violinist Alessandro Ruisi, cellist Nathaniel Boyd, and pianist Nigel Yandell bring extensive international chamber-music experience to this collaboration. Alessandro, first violin of the award-winning Ruisi Quartet, performs widely and is regularly invited to guest-lead ensembles including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Aurora Orchestra. Nathaniel, a laureate of major prizes with the Navarra Quartet, is known for his thoughtful and insightful musicianship and appears often as guest principal cellist with groups such as the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Manchester Camerata. Nigel, an experienced solo and chamber musician, teaches at the University of Cambridge and has long been active as a performer and collaborator across a range of musical settings, both in the UK and abroad.
This evening’s artists share a clear commitment to chamber-music practice — attentive listening, shared decision-making and musical dialogue — and come together here to explore landmark works from the piano trio canon.
