Join us on Tuesday 4th November in Cambridge for the first of our ‘In Conversation With…’ events, where Patrick Holland will be in conversation with Dorothy Byrne. These two titans of British TV, with decades of experience shaping the television landscape, will discuss the challenges facing programme makers today and what the future holds, as well as insights into Patrick’s own recent challenges at Banijay.
Patrick Holland is Banijay UK’s Executive Chairman, overseeing the management and strategic direction of the UK group’s portfolio of over 20 scripted and unscripted production labels. Patrick joined Banijay from the BBC, where he was Director, Factual, Arts & Classical Music, after stints as Channel Controller of BBC Two and Head of Commissioning Documentaries. Prior to that he was MD of the Independent Production Company Boundless.
Dorothy Byrne was President of Murray Edwards College, Cambridge between 2021 to 2025, after 18 years as Head of News and Current Affairs, then Editor at Large at Channel 4. During her tenure the programme won numerous Royal Television Society, BAFTA and Emmy awards, with Dorothy herself receiving several major television awards including the RTS Journalism Award. In 2019, she delivered the prestigious MacTaggart Lecture at the Edinburgh Television Festival during which she famously called Boris Johnson a liar.
Both Patrick Holland and Dorothy Byrne are Fellows of the Royal Television Society for their outstanding contribution to television.
