Edges have got to be edges. Push at them, but don’t smooth them off. We need edges. Vancouver Island’s Earthball are right there at them, stretching, jostling, and poking. Striving against the prevailing mundanity the band is a project of totalimprov with an unsettled lineup, committed to complete psychedelic spontaneous composition. The result? Sprawling, zoned-out jams of wild horns, freely crunching guitars, syrupy beats, unrestrained fx, and amorphous vocalisations. Earthball are a relentless tornado of elemental energy, railing against the tedious but with an aggressively positive intent, surfing the same waves as folks like Sunburned Hand Of The Man, Vibracathedral Orchestra, Sly & The Family Drone, and No Neck Blues Band.
