In 1893, Lokmanya Tilak initiated the public celebration of Ganesh Utsav in Pune to unite a divided community and strengthen social bonds.
Inspired by this spirit, the Cambridge Mitra Mandal group was formed in 2016.
Our first community celebration was Gudi Padwa in 2018, which received an overwhelming response from the Cambridgeshire Maharashtrian community.
That same year, by popular demand, we held our first public Ganesh Utsav—bringing together families, friends, and devotees to celebrate our beloved Bappa Utsav.

🪔 The event will feature procession (मिरवणूक), cultural performances & games, community bonding, followed by delicious meal and of course, the divine blessings of Shree Ganesh.
