Cambridge Jazz Festival at Hot Numbers: J.A.M. String Collective

As part of Cambridge Jazz Festival programme we are excited to host the unique string sounds of J.A.M String Collective at Gwydir Street.

The London based jazz string trio present music from their upcoming debut album ‘She Looks Up at the Trees’ featuring music for ‘improvising string trio & loop pedals’ on themes of the Climate Crisis. The music features original compositions, as well as a collaboration with composer Oleta Haffner, funded by the Peter Whittingham Developmental Award. The music occupies a fluid space between jazz and contemporary string sound worlds, with improvisatory elements running throughout.

J.A.M String Collective are Jan Halen on Violin, Julia Dos Reis on Viola, and Miranda Lewis-Brown on Cello.
