Chinese tallow is an invasive tree of concern in Nassau County, Florida. It causes reduced productivity of natural ecosystems, including forestry. This class will help land managers and agricultural producers learn about the negative effects of Chinese tallow tree, and how it should be treated and managed according to UF/IFAS recommendations and label of an appropriate pesticide.
Florida Department of Agricultural and Consumer Sciences will grant anyone who takes this course 1.0 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) in the following pest control categories:
Info: We will cover the basics of Chinese tallow tree and teach you how to manage it.
Info: 10 minutes from the Extension office, a farmer volunteered to let us "hack and squirt" one of his Chinese tallow trees. You will see a demonstration of this technique.
