Keeping the Skies Alive:
Richard’s Story of Birds and Nest Boxes
Each year, fewer birds return to our woodlands and meadows. Some familiar songs are fading from the dawn chorus, and migratory birds face greater struggles than ever before.
But there is hope.
Join us for a special talk with Richard Lloyd-Evans, founder of Project Nest Box. Richard has hand-built over 6,000 nest boxes since childhood, creating safe havens for some of our most threatened species — from Barn Owls and Little Owls, to the delicate Swifts and Pied Flycatchers.
Through story, passion, and decades of experience, Richard will share the plight of local and migrant birds, the dangers they face, and the small, hopeful steps we can all take to help.
📅 Date: Thursday 18th September 2025
🕰 Time: 19:00
📍 Venue: St. Michael & All Angels Church, Lower Machen
✨ Come along and discover how every small action helps keep the skies alive with song.
🦉The event is free but voluntary donations are welcome, all go to Richards project to fund supplies for the boxes.
