About
Walk the Plank is building a Wild West-inspired Wagon part pop-up stage, part DJ booth, and more, inspired by Buffalo Bill’s visit to Salford 150 years ago. In 2026, Salford turns 100 as a city. What do you want to celebrate?
Tell us where the Wagon should go next summer and what your neighbourhood would like to make happen - from a fashion show or band night, to karaoke or a food festival.
We’re looking for everyone: residents’ groups, movers and shakers, creators, connectors, introverts, extroverts, eccentrics, conformists, the others and the outsiders and all Salfordians – old and new. All are welcome, and everyone’s invited. Please share this information and spread the word.
Get up, get out, get involved - come along and share your ideas.
The tour will take place whatever the weather, so please dress appropriately. Some of the locations are in parks where the ground is uneven rather than a hard-standing surface. The Wagon has a set of 3 steps to access the level area. All meeting locations have step-free accessible access with toilet facilities, with the exception of GRIT on Friday 24 October. There is limited car parking available, so please travel by public transport or walk where possible: information on the Bee Network.
If you have any questions about the sessions, please email Z2V0aW52b2x2ZWQgfCB3YWxrdGhlcGxhbmsgISBjbyAhIHVr or ring 0161 736 8964 and ask for Ben or Astarte.
The full schedule and access information can be found on our webpage.
