January Community Contra Dance

On Friday, January 9, come celebrate the new year at the Cabot Community Contra Dance, featuring the friendly calling of Erin Smith! The dance takes place in the lovely 3rd floor space in the Willey Building (Cabot Town Hall, 3084 Main St), from 7-9:30pm. Live music is provided by Franklin Heyburn, Susan Reid, Kenric Kite, Pam Bockes, and David Van Houten, on fiddles and guitars--feel free to just come and listen if you prefer!

If you can walk, you can contra dance! This is a traditional New England dance form that welcomes people of all ages and abilities, and everyone dances together. We use gender-neutral terminology, and generally change partners throughout the evening. The dances are easy to learn and Erin will teach you everything you need to know.

Admission is on a sliding scale, $5-10 suggested, but nobody is turned away for lack of funds! Water is provided, or bring your own water bottle. We ask that you bring clean, dry shoes to change into during the winter months!
