The Cable Rod & Gun Club is sponsoring a Youth Hunter Education course the week of August 11, 2025!
The classroom training will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. until noon at the Cable Rod & Gun Clubhouse. The classroom training will include guest speakers collaborating with the certified trainers.
On Saturday, August 16, the field training will run from 9:00 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. The final written test will be given that afternoon.
The cost is $10.00.

From the Wisconsin DNR website: Students under age 18 that successfully complete either of the following options: Hunter Interactive Online Course or Hunter Internet Field Day Online Course MUST attend an in-person field day to earn their hunter education safety certification.
The Saturday field training includes:
Gun, Bow, & Crossbow Safety
Entering and exiting tree stands
Live fire on a rifle range with DNR provided .22 caliber rifles
Tracking a blood trail
How to safely cross a fence
Processing your game
Possibly a trap shooting demonstration
