2nd Annual PICKLE PALOOZA at Homeplace & Hog Hollow

Homeplace & Hog Hollow are dill-lighted to announce the date for our 2nd Annual PICKLE PALOOZA!

Come spend an afternoon celebrating pickles and all things pickled, fermented and preserved Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Festivities begin at 2:30pm and continue into to night!

FREE Fermentation Taproom Talks, Pickle Picnic Market and live music. Food and drinks available for purchase, as well as Pickle-rific gift basket raffle benefitting Dig In Yancey Community Garden!

Your friendly FCS Agent will be on site from 3-6:30pm set up in the lawn!
🥒 She'll have her handy gauge tester available to check dial pressure canner gauges, so if you haven't had yours checked, swing by with your lid. It takes less than 5 minutes and gives you another layer of protection for safe canning.
🫙 There will also be great information about canning and other food preservation techniques, fun freebies, and more!

2:30pm - Fermentation Talk #1 with Olivia from Soil Shine Farm

3-6:30pm - Pickle Picnic Market

4:30pm - Fermentation Talk #2 with Olivia from Soil Shine Farm

5:30pm - 16 and under pickle eating contest

6pm - 16+ pickle eating contest

6:30pm - Raffle drawing

7-9:30 - Live music from Jesse Velvet
