With just over 4,000 residents, Burnham is a small, tightknit village located in Cook County. Largely made up of residential and nature preserve land, Burnham is an important part of the Calumet River floodplain.
We will be planting with BeeHaven, a non-profit working to create native pollinator habitat in the region, to add 14 native trees to their Burnham location. These trees will help increase the tree canopy cover and provide habitat and shade for local pollinators.
No experience is necessary and all agres are welcome! CRTI will provide training on how to properly plant and care for trees. Work alongside the CRTI team and other fantastic volunteers to help us dig holes, plant trees, mulch, and water.
We hope you join us and help contribute to the improvement of our local urban forests and making a difference in the community!
Also check out other Workshops in Calumet City.
Tickets for BeeHaven Tree Planting can be booked here.
