Reducing Plastic Pollution Workshop (Drop-in)

The Reconnect Burlington Project are partnering with our friends at BurlingtonGreen for their upcoming Zero Waste Drop-Off event! This year, we’re bringing a Halloween twist with a plastic-focused upcycling workshop inside of Burlington Centre (unit A2 - previously Cogeco).

Join us Saturday, Oct 18th, from 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM at the Burlington Centre, running alongside BurlingtonGreen’s drop-off. Inside, you can:

• Enjoy activities for all ages focused on plastic upcycling and Halloween-themed crafts
• Discover ways to reduce plastic in your everyday life
• Learn how to sort and properly recycle your plastics
• Make spooky, Halloween-themed seed balls as an alternative to other plastic-wrapped trick-or-treat give-aways
• Use your voice to advocate for stronger plastic regulations by writing letters to elected officials and signing our Environmental Defence petitions
• Get access to our FREE digital guides on topics such as: Thrifting in Burlington, Native Plant Gardening, Zero-Waste Guide for drop-offs in Burlington, Local Hiking Trails

Plus, we’ll have raffle prizes, including $25 gift cards! Bring your zero-waste items — like electronics, chip and snack bag wrappers, plastic cards, disposable masks, and small water or air filters — and we’ll make sure they’re properly recycled. (full list of acceptable items )
