About the Book Club:
Pages with Purpose is a space for community, connection, and meaningful conversation about disability, ableism, and the pursuit of equity. Each month we explore a different book that invites us to think critically about how disability is represented, perceived, and lived. Whether you read or listen to the book, you are welcome here.
This session’s book discussion is on Being Heumann by Judith Heumann. This powerful memoir shares Judy’s journey as a lifelong disability rights activist and offers an inside look at the fight for accessibility, equity, and justice. It’s an inspiring, honest story that helps us understand the lived experience of disability and the movement that reshaped civil rights in the United States.
