Brahms’ 1st Symphony

Roaring brass heralds the beginning of our 75th season with Wagner, followed by a lush and soothing intermezzo from Mascagni, and the incessant heavenly crescendo of Ravel’s Bolero. Tension fills the air with the exquisite drama of Brahms’ 1st Symphony until soaring strings and distant alpine horn-calls announce the Beethoven-esque heroic finale of your new favorite symphonic masterpiece.

75th Masterworks Series tickets are transferable to any location - this means you can attend the concert venue and date that works best for you! Each concert is general admission seating.

Enrich your concert experience at our “Prelude" pre-concert talks. Go beyond the program notes, listen to excerpts, connect with guest artists, and meet conductor Robert McConnell in person! Prelude talks begin 45 minutes prior to all Masterworks Series events and are open to everyone.
