About the event

Annual Celebration 2025
Celebrate 30 years of the Vermont Women’s Fund as we welcome Reshma Saujani and Myra Flynn to The Flynn’s stage!

Tuesday, September 30
4:30 lobby doors open / 5:30 show begins
The Flynn Center, 153 Main Street, Burlington, VT

Since Reshma last appeared at a Women’s Fund event, she has published a new book, launched an acclaimed podcast, and inspired millions with her speeches (we especially like the 2023 Smith College commencement speech). We will kick off the evening with a performance by Myra Flynn, and returning as our emcee is Jane Lindholm, Host & Executive Producer at Vermont Public.

As we return to The Flynn, we are planning time for guests to catch up with old friends and make new connections–one of the most important aspects of our events. We encourage you to arrive before the show and linger afterward as we serve light refreshments, and the cash bar is open at The Flynn concessions.

About Our Special Guests
Reshma Saujani is a leading activist, the founder of Girls Who Code, the founder and CEO of Moms First, and the host of My So-Called Midlife with Lemonada Media. She has spent more than a decade building movements to fight for women and girls’ economic empowerment, working to close the gender gap in the tech sector, and most recently fighting for the structural changes moms need and deserve, including affordable child care and paid leave. She is a New York Times bestselling author of several books, including PAY UP: The Future of Women and Work (And Why It’s Different Than You Think), Brave, Not Perfect, and the Girls Who Code book series.

As a leading voice on women’s empowerment, her 2023 Smith College Commencement speech on imposter syndrome has more than 18 million views, and her influential TED talk, “Teach girls bravery, not perfection,” has more than 54 million views globally. In 2024, she launched My So-Called Midlife, a podcast with Lemonada Media that quickly entered Apple’s Top 10 show chart, reached #1 in Health and Fitness, and was named one of the best new podcasts of the year by TIME magazine. Reshma began her career as an attorney and Democratic organizer. In 2010, she surged onto the political scene as the first Indian American woman to run for U.S. Congress. Reshma lives in New York City with her husband, Nihal, their sons, Shaan and Sai, and their dog Steve.

Myra Flynn is a lyrical storyteller who uses her voice to empower, inspire, and even educate. Her uncategorizable and unique blend of indie/soul/folk/R&B original songs combines soulful vocals with a lyrical delivery that doesn't let one get too comfortable. As the New England Deli magazine puts it, "Her vocal influences have as much in common with Ani DiFranco and Shawn Colvin as they do with Rihanna and Jill Scott." Myra will be joined on stage by Paul Boffa, Caleb Bronze, and Andric Severence for this celebratory performance.
