Search and Rescue Training

This month’s CERT meeting will focus on Search and Rescue (SAR) training. Members will practice key skills such as basic search techniques, victim assessment, and safe extrication methods. The session will include both discussion and hands-on activities to help you become more confident in your role during an emergency.

What to Bring:
• Your CERT bag and all issued gear
• Any personal protective equipment you typically use

Uniform / Dress Code:
• Long pants
• Closed-toe shoes (boots recommended)
• Green CERT shirt (preferred) or other clothing that fully covers and protects your arms and legs

What to Expect:
• A review of SAR fundamentals, including safety, marking systems, and team organization
• Hands-on drills simulating light search and rescue operations
• Opportunities to work with your teammates in realistic scenarios
• Time for questions and discussion at the end
