ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)
The Committee is responsible for overseeing and implementing strategies and activities that promote GCWA's mission, and to comply with all internal and external governance requirements.
In accordance with the GCWA Constitution, all Committee positions are vacated at the commencement of the AGM. During the AGM, nominee information for each position is presented to the members and put forward for a vote. The successful nominees will then immediately take up their elected position on the Committee for the new term.

WORKSHOP
Brian Falkner wanted to be an author ever since he was a child. It only took him thirty years to realise that dream. Along the way he worked as a reporter, advertising copywriter, radio announcer, graphic designer, and Internet developer. Now an award-winning author, Brian has had twenty-one books published internationally. He is also an internationally acclaimed writing coach, running workshops and writing camps around Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

The Gold Coast Writers’ Association is a not-for-profit organisation.
Our mission is to encourage and support writers from all genres, age groups, and levels of experience to grow, learn, and excel in their craft.
Our events offer the opportunity to connect and share with like-minded people in a relaxed environment.
Guest speakers are invited from all genres of writing. Speakers are encouraged to share information about their writing life, discuss their techniques, and sell their books.
We encourage guest speakers to include a mini-workshop for members during their presentation.
Workshops are held at each meeting. These workshops provide informal opportunities for members and visitors to enjoy hands-on writing, listening, and reading activities in small groups.
Membership offers the additional advantages of being able to sell your books at the meetings, attending our member-only critique groups, and much more.
