Art you can wear! Hands-on wearable art button making class – kids and families art class in the Book Arts studio!
In this hands-on wearable art button making class, makers of all ages will design their own custom 1″ and 2″ buttons using a variety of materials inspired by found text, imagery, collage materials, hand-drawn creations, and your own imagination.
Once a punk badge of honor, political protest symbol, or DIY fashion staple — the humble pin-back button is a bold form of self-expression. Feel that spark when you find the image that makes you go WOW? We’ll help you turn it into something you can wear, trade, or display. You’ll also discover how the history of buttons intersects with zine culture, book arts, and the world of editions — small objects, big meaning. Each button is like a mini print or artist book: part of a repeatable form, yet entirely yours. Come make art you can pin to your jacket — because your voice belongs on your sleeve.
Bring along your friends and family for a fun and creative outing. This workshop is a great way to bond while exploring art, creating unique wearable objects, and sharing your designs with others.
