Trailhead Tuesday - Snowpack Uncertainty

Join us for Trailhead Tuesday on January 06th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at The Trailhead gear store, 402 East Main Street in Buena Vista, Colorado. This event is well-attended, so bring your own camp chair and consider coming early to grab food and a drink from Simple Eatery next door. This free event builds skills, sparks conversation, and connects people who love the mountains.

This month's topic is managing uncertainty in the snowpack. We'll dig into the 9 different avalanche problems and how to observe, interpret, and manage them while touring. Topics include an overview of layered mountain snowpack formation, identifying avalanche problems, and weighing evidence versus uncertainty to make better choices in the field.

The event is open to all winter backcountry travelers, whether you're on skis, splitboard, snowmobile, cross country skis, or snowshoes. Connect with other mountain people, ask questions, and deepen your understanding of the snowpack.
