Seeds of Hope Community Planting

Join us for the Seeds of Hope community planting event at Buddina, now in its 5th year. This special event is part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign that raises awareness and calls for action to end violence against women and girls.

This year’s theme is “UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls”, focusing on the growing issue of online abuse. By planting trees together, we’re showing support for safer communities—both online and offline.

• 7 – 8am: Tree planting
• 8 – 9am: Morning tea and optional group photo

• Gloves, tools, plants and materials
• Morning tea

• Wear orange to show support
• Enclosed shoes, long pants, broad-brimmed hat and be sunsafe.
• Water bottle with enough water to keep you hydrated.

We’re coordinating carpooling from several Council locations to make it easier to attend and reduce our environmental impact.

Pick-up locations include:

• Caloundra Depot – 54 Industrial Avenue, Caloundra West
• City Hall Maroochydore – Corner First Avenue & South Sea Islander Way
• Coolum Depot – 243 Quanda Road, Coolum Beach
• Nambour Service Centre – Cnr Currie and Bury streets, Nambour

Planting trees is a peaceful way to take action. It helps us connect with nature, spend time with others, and create something lasting. The 500 native trees and shrubs we’ll plant will:

• Honour victims and survivors of domestic and family violence
• Help protect the dunes from erosion
• Create homes for local wildlife

No experience is needed—just bring your care and energy. Whether you plant one tree or many, your help matters.
