Exeter Chamber Choir and friends are delighted to present an evening of joyful masterpieces of Baroque music. Handel's "Eternal Source of Light Divine" is a sublime musical sunrise. Vivaldi's popular Gloria is loved for its lively and uplifting choruses. Also full of Italian sunshine is a virtuosic trumpet concerto by Torelli, a composer who helped establish the trumpet as a solo instrument. Our talented young soloist is Eloise Yates.
Continuing the youthful energy is Handel's dramatic choral masterpiece, Dixit Dominus. Composed when Handel was just 22, it showcases his mastery of the Italian style, with its powerful choruses and expressive solos. We look forward to welcoming you to Buckfast Abbey. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear some of the most exciting and moving music from the Baroque era in a truly inspiring setting.
