Edmund Fitzgerald~What Really Happened?: Local History Center

Through popular culture, the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald freighter is known all around the world. Guest speaker from the National Museum of the Great Lakes, Christopher Gillcrist will explore the brief history of shipping on the Great Lakes that lead up to the Edmund Fitzgerald, and the theories on what really happened of the tragic wreck. Gillcrist is Director Emeritus of the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio. Chris served as the National Museum of the Great Lakes’ Executive Director from 1999 to 2023 and led the organization’s growth from its original museum in Vermilion, Ohio to its current location as the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio. Join Chris in this informational program "Edmund Fitzgerald: What Really Happened?" on September 15 @ 6:30 in the Local History Center's Harmon Room. This is a free program, open to all.
