En 2022, Malcolm Todd décide de consacrer son énergie à la musique, renonçant aux voies traditionnelles après le lycée. Deux ans plus tard, Sweet Boy impose sa signature sonore et rassemble des millions d’écoutes. Avec Malcolm Todd, son album éponyme, il confirme son ambition d’inscrire sa voix dans le temps.
Aux côtés d’Omar Apollo sur « Bleed », il explore des textures plus pop sans renier la sincérité qui guide son écriture. Entre espoir, anxiété et exigence, il signe un disque dense et cohérent, reflet d’une identité artistique en pleine affirmation.

Malcolm Todd is een van de meest veelbelovende nieuwe gezichten van de pop-r&b-scene in Californië. Met zijn soepele stem, onweerstaanbare gevoel voor melodie en een vleugje nonchalance blaast hij het genre nieuw leven in. Gevoed door invloeden variërend van Frank Ocean tot Steve Lacy, Omar Apollo en Dominic Fike, en met invloeden uit funk, hiphop en bedroom pop, is zijn muziek een rijk tapijt van alternatieve r&b, indiepop, soul en funk.
Na verschillende opvallende singles en een groeiende buzz op sociale media bracht Malcolm Todd ‘Sweet Boy’ uit, een eerste DIY-album dat geprezen werd om zijn authenticiteit en frisheid. Vandaag keert hij terug naar de voorgrond met een nieuw, gelijknamig album dat zijn talent nogmaals bevestigt.
