Svetlana Maraš is a composer, sound artists, and a professor of Creative Music Technology and co-head of Electronic Studio at Hochschule für Musik FHNW, Basel. Her work is as varied as it is prolific. It includes live performance, electro-acoustic composition, instrument building, sound installation, and works for radio, and has been featured in just about every major experimental music venue in Europe.

Maraš sees each work as an invitation to dive into something new, a leap into the unknown. But however multifarious, all her endeavors have at their heart an exploration musical being— even if at times it emerges from the least musical of materials. She embarks on these explorations with an impressive knowledge of the history and aesthetics of electronic music, and of her place in it. Over the course of the morning and afternoon, she will share some insights from her past leaps into the unknown and will help KCB students navigate theirs.
