FLASYD (US) (Post Punk)
FLASYD was quickly seen after their release, by like-minded fellow creatives such as Leatheracci’s Denise Fiacco (leather-maker to icons such as Iggy Pop, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix) and Jeffrey Campbell.
Their song “Brain Pain” was licensed by neo-noir indie film “27” (yet to be released) written, directed, and produced by Abigail Kollek - shot in NYC’s East Village as a tribute to the area’s music scene. Keep a look out for Bratt and Syd’s cameo..
FLASYD is presently in front of the lens for “Untethered” [working title], a feature documentary directed, filmed, and produced by Olivia Von Hesse, following the punk band, through their lives and music in the NYC and LA scene. Through Bratt, Kim, and Syd, the viewer experiences the rawness of what it is to be a woman reclaiming a man’s world through song and stance. Inspired by 60s Japanese street lighting and shot on 8mm film / DV.
