CATHERINE GRAINDORGE - SONGS FOR THE DEAD (BE) (Post Rock / Atlernative)
Catherine Graindorge is a violinist, violist, composer, and actress based in Brussels. Over the years, she has built her craft by blending disciplines, creating theater performances as both writer and actress, composing music for her own productions as well as for others, and performing in various musical ensembles.
In 2024, her third solo album, *Songs for The Dead,* will be released, featuring Simon Huw Jones (And Also the Trees) and Pascal Humbert (16 Horsepower, Détroit) on Glitterbeat Records (Tak:Til). Inspired by Allen Ginsberg's poem *A Dream Record,* in which he recounts a dream encounter with his late friend Joan Burroughs, as well as the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, Catherine weaves an intense musical narrative, caught between shadow and light, anguish and hope, lyricism and introspection.
BERLINDE DEMAN (BE) (Serpent & Electronic)
Berlinde Deman (°1982) has earned her spurs in jazz, contemporary and classical music, as a regular tuba player in the Flat Earth Society Orchestra and as a versatile musician in projects with Dave Douglas, BaarsBuisDeman trio, Graindelavoix, Razen and Machinefabriek, among others. Her search for new worlds of sound led her to the serpent, a rare wind instrument from the 16th century - the mysterious forerunner of the tuba.In her solo programme, she combines the deep breath of this ancient instrument with the layering of loops and effects. She stretches time, interweaves textures and plays with resonances to open up a universe that escapes the hectic pace of everyday life. Here, between breath and electricity, between tradition and experimentation, an immersive world of sound emerges that is as disconcerting as it is familiar.OCTOBER 24TH 2025, her first solo album will be released on the New York label Relative Pitch Records, focusing on serpent and live electronics in all their rawness and subtlety.Let yourself be swept away by Berlinde Deman's multi-layered sound sculptures - where past and future merge into an intimate and elusive experience.
