49th & Main est un duo indie-pop originaire de Kilkenny, composé du producteur Ben O’Sullivan et du chanteur/multi-instrumentiste Paddy King. Amis d’école, ils commencent la musique ensemble avant d’y revenir sérieusement en 2019 lors d’un été au Canada. O’Sullivan, autodidacte en production musicale, profite de son temps libre pour composer pendant que King travaille.
De retour en Irlande, O’Sullivan apprend qu’il souffre d’aplasie médullaire, ce qui le pousse à publier leurs morceaux. En 2020, ils sortent Party Alone, suivi de Neon Palm Trees, puis Catching Eyes, qui dépasse les 10 millions d’écoutes. Depuis, ils multiplient les collaborations et ont signé avec Counter Records et Paradigm, lançant ainsi leur carrière à l’international.
